• Power

Our installation operates entirely on solar energy. The 4.5kW solar array, comprising fifteen high-efficiency panels, powers all functions while maintaining a three-day battery backup system. Our power management system adjusts to day/night cycles, ensuring efficient energy use throughout the installation. Emergency backup capabilities and weatherproofed components guarantee reliable operation in challenging desert conditions.

  • Materials

We've carefully selected materials that align with our environmental values. The striking mirror surfaces are crafted from 80% post-consumer recycled stainless steel, while the support structures utilize reclaimed industrial aluminum. Every component is selected not only for its durability in harsh desert conditions but also for its potential for future reuse, extending the artwork's lifespan well beyond its initial installation.

  • Leave No Trace

Our commitment to the environment extends to protecting the desert landscape itself. We maintain a comprehensive site preservation system throughout construction, operation, and breakdown. Daily sweeps ensure we catch any potential debris, while our systematic grid search during breakdown helps us leave the site exactly as we found it. We document site conditions photographically and conduct multiple inspection passes to ensure thoroughness in our preservation efforts.

  • Long-term impact

Looking beyond the immediate installation, we've designed every aspect for future reinstallation and reuse. This modular approach not only extends the artwork's lifespan but also minimizes waste in the long term. By demonstrating how large-scale art installations can operate sustainably, we hope to inspire future projects to embrace environmental responsibility as a fundamental aspect of their creation.
